Nd:Ce:YAG Laser Crystal

The doubly doped Nd:Ce:YAG crystal has cerium added as a sensitizer for Nd3+ ions due to its high absorption rate in the ultraviolet wavelength band and efficient energy transfer to the Nd3+ excited state when excited by a flash lamp.
Therefore, the thermal distortion of the Nd:Ce:YAG crystal is quite small, and the energy of the output laser is larger than the thermal distortion of the Nd:YAG crystal excited under the same conditions.
Thus, it becomes possible to achieve high-power lasers with good beam quality.
The oscillation wavelength at 1064 nm, the laser damage threshold, and the thermal conductivity of the Nd:Ce:YAG crystal are about the same as those of the Nd:YAG crystal.
