Aluminum Oxynitride (AlON)

Aluminum Oxynitride (AlON) is a transparent ceramic material represented by the chemical formula Al23O27N5 (or the approximate formula Al(64+x)/3O32xNx, x ≈ 2.5) and possesses a spinel-type structure. This material is a type of aluminum oxynitride (AlON) that combines the excellent properties of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) and aluminum nitride (AlN).
